FULL TIME - TAX ASSESSOR POSITION – TOWNSHIP OF WINSLOW – TAX ASSESSOR’S OFFICE
WINSLOW TOWNSHIP seeks a full-time Tax Assessor in the Winslow Township Assessor’s Office. The Township Tax Assessor shall perform all duties as required by the applicable statutes of the State of New Jersey and regulations of appropriate officials of the State of New Jersey and the County of Camden. A Municipal Tax Assessor shall hold a tax assessor certificate provided for in P.L.1967, c.44 (C. 54:1-35.25 et seq.) and shall have the duty of assessing a property for the purpose of general taxation and value of all real and personal property in the township; prepare the tax list and duplicate as required by law, and maintain adequate assessment records of each and every parcel of real property assessed or exempted; have custody of and maintain an up-to-date Township Tax Map and provide for the recording thereon of all changes in ownership or character of the property; make all appraisals of property for municipal tax purpose; inspect new construction and major improvements to existing structures to determine values when necessary; explain assessed values to property owners and defend appealed assessments at public hearings, and supervise employees within his/her office.
Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check. Salary and hours of work are negotiable within a 40 hour work week minimum.
